Le Réseau « Villes et Villages des Justes de France » a pour ambition de réunir les communes ayant nommé un lieu porteur de mémoire [1] – rue, place, allée, jardin, square, stèle… – pour perpétuer le souvenir et les valeurs portées par les « Justes parmi les nations », ces femmes et ces hommes qui, avec courage et au péril de leur vie, ont, au cours de la seconde guerre mondiale, sauvé des Juifs en s’opposant aux persécutions antisémites nazies et à l’Etat français de Vichy. A ce jour, 402 communes de France ont créé de tels lieux et nos délégués ont souvent été à l’origine de ces initiatives, avec les maires des communes concernées, à la suite de l’organisation d’une cérémonie de remise de médaille…

Le Comité Français pour Yad Vashem organise chaque année des séminaires de formation à l’enseignement de la Shoah à l’intention d’enseignants français des enseignements primaire et secondaire. Ces séminaires, d’une durée d’une semaine, ont été conçus et sont assurés par l’École Internationale pour l’Enseignement de la Shoah, de l’Institut Yad Vashem à Jérusalem.
Encadrés par des professeurs et des chercheurs d’Université, ils s’adressent aux enseignants du primaire et du secondaire auxquels ils apportent la matière pour l’enseignement de l’histoire de la Shoah.
